Online searches straight from the desktop
As you can see above image, I’ve installed Bing Desktop v 1.3.1 on today’s date and the update was an optional one. It’s a clever way for Microsoft to promote its search engine. By using Bing Desktop in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you can search Bing straight from the desktop, without having to open a browsers to do it. Of course, the results will appear in a new browser page.
