Build 14526 was released just one day after this month’s Patch Tuesday, and unlike cumulative updates which caused just one major issue, Windows Insiders weren’t so lucky. Unfortunately, build 14526 caused a lot of problems to users who’ve installed it, so let’s see what bothers them in this release.

Windows 10 Preview build 14526 reported issues

As usual we start our report with installation and downloading problems. A few users reported on Microsoft’s forums that the build isn’t even showing up for them. If you’re facing this issue, as well, you can try with resetting Windows Update, or running the WUReset script. However, we can’t guarantee any of these solutions will work. One serious issue, that one Insider reported on the forums is the problem with Windows Explorer. Apparently, Explorer.exe constantly crashes on his Surface Book, leaving the device almost impossible to use. Unfortunately, no one from the forums had a proper solution for this issue. If you’re facing this issue, you can check out our article about File Explorer problems in Windows 10, but once again, none of the solutions offered there is guaranteed to work. Build 14926 is actually full of strange and unusual issues, that Insiders haven’t face in previous Preview builds. For one user, the native system text is simply not displayed. The whole system just shows icons, and ’empty blocks,’ without any words. Here’s what he said on Microsoft’s forums: Unfortunately, this issue still need to be addressed, as we don’t have a proper solution. Some users are suggesting updating graphics card drivers, but a user who reported this issue hasn’t confirmed it works, yet. And while ‘text’ is the only thing missing for some users, for other users apps themselves are missing. One user complained on the forums that he completely lost the Feedback Hub app, after installing the new build. Apparently, this is a rare issue, as it showed up to only one user (or at least he was the only one to report it) in this build. Perhaps the best possible solution, if you’re also missing the Feedback Hub, is to simply head over to the Store, and download it once again, and it should work just fine. SPONSORED In some previous Windows 10 Preview builds, that still counted as the Anniversary Update builds, users encountered problems with SFC scan. Apparently, even after releasing the Anniversary Update, and a few early Redstone 2 Preview builds, this issue is still present for some users. Here’s what one Windows Insider said about this issue on the Community forums: Although this is becoming a common problem in Preview builds, Microsoft still doesn’t seem to solve it completely. So basically, the only thing users facing this issue can do is to wait for the new build, and hope Microsoft will do something more then. That’s about it for the reported issues on PCs, but as you probably know, build 14926 was also pushed to Insiders on Mobile, who also got their share of issues. Apparently, Windows 10 Mobile devices have been plagued with a lot of problems in this build. One user have made some kind of a roundup with issues for Mobile, including a handful problems that affected his device. Here’s what he said: Truth be told, most of the presorted issues on Mobile are already listed by Microsoft, as ‘Known issues,’ but there are also some ‘new ones’. The number of problems is indeed big, and some of them even make it impossible for some users to use their devices. So, Microsoft would need to do a slightly better job with the next build, even though it’s Insider program, and issues are expected. That’s about it for our report article about issues in Windows 10 Preview build 14926. As you can see, there are some new problems, there are some old problems, all in all, just another build with standard number of issues. In case you’ve encountered some problems that we didn’t list in this article, please feel free to let us know in the comments below. RELATED STORIES YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT:
