It’s quite an important feature Windows Phone users felt the need to have, especially since iOS and Android users have been enjoying it for quite a while now. Many customers will be happy to install this upgrade on their phones. On WhatsApp, it’s now possible to backup chat logs and messages. If you’re wondering why would you want to do that, think about the possibility of changing your phone, unintentionally damaging your data, or losing the device outright. In these cases, it would be useful to have a backup. Before this update, WhatsApp only allowed users to store chat history and messages locally, which meant taking up precious space on the phone. WhatsApp beta also lets you choose how often you want a backup version of your data to be created. You can schedule this process to take place every day, every week or every month. Moreover, you also have the possibility of turning the backup option off if you don’t want to keep any data available in this app. Since the developers thought everything out, you can also opt for the process to only take place when you are connected to Wi-Fi so that it doesn’t consume your data. For now, you can only access the beta version of the app if you are enrolled in the beta program for the Windows Phone app. If you are, you can turn on the OneDrive backup if you go to Settings/Chat and Security/Backup. Soon, the feature will be available for all the users, so stay tuned. RELATED STORIES TO CHECK OUT:
