The most important Windows 10 Fall Creators Update change

The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update will bring a major overhaul to the UI thanks to a new tool from Microsoft. Previously named Project NEON, this system design tool has received an official name: the Microsoft Fluent Design System. The entire redesign won’t exactly be released in the Fall because the project is still work in progress. But, the good news is that major portions of it will be released alongside the next Windows update. Rumors about separate Edge updates Microsoft also ended rumors concerning the Edge browser being separated from the operating system so that it would get updates more frequently. Speaking to Neowin at Build 2017, a member of the Edge team confirmed that Microsoft has no plans to separate the browser from the operating system. As always, Microsoft also threw a bit of ambiguity in the game by saying “never say never”. The browser is only updated alongside Windows updates, so once or twice every year — far too infrequently for Edge. For instance, Google and Mozilla update their browsers every few weeks. For this reason, these browsers much often faster than Edge. This piece of news might be very disappointing for some users who hoped that Microsoft would update Edge more frequently. The company’s current plan is to strengthen Edge by “doubling down” on the essentials including reliability, security, and performance. RELATED STORIES TO CHECK OUT:
