Windows Hello camera issues
It seems that the root-cause of the problem was a faulty driver that came with the July 21 update, version 1.0.65.1 and this was not documented in the changelog. The workaround was to simply roll back the driver via the Device Manager. Anyway, Microsoft recently rolled out a fix for this problem. The official changelog for the Surface Pro 4 update history page said that the version 1.0.75.1 version fixes the Windows Hello experience error. According to the value indicator chart, the update enhances reliability, and it will not affect the following factors: battery life, performance, connectivity, compatibility, or security.
Getting the new Surface Pro 4 update
To grab the latest update, you have to go to Settings – Security & updates – Windows Update – Check for updates. You should know that if you update the OS on your Surface, this will erase all of your current update history. Another important thing is that firmware updates cannot be uninstalled or reverted to a previous version. When the Windows Update service provides the Surface updates, they are delivered in stages to the Surface users. Therefore, not every device will get the update at the same time, but be sure that all devices will receive the update eventually.
