Microsoft acknowledges the issue

It seems that the problem is not an isolated one as more users are experiencing it. The company itself said that this is true and the updates triggers a problem with bo5h the mouse and keyboard. David Bader, a Microsoft agent wrote that very same problem was experienced by the Microsoft team as well and when the mouse stops working as it should, the keyboard stops as well. On the other hand, it seems that indeed, when you touch the screen, both the keyboard and the mouse start working fine again. The whole problem seems to have begun only after installing the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, and this has been confirmed by more users. So, it seems that we can’t really do anything about this, but wait for the next Windows Update and keep our fingers crossed for the promised fix. Meanwhile, you can remove the Surface Pen to reduce the issue frequency. RELATED STORIES TO CHECK OUT:
