Microsoft web content filtering service
Web content filtering has been part of the Microsoft Defender ATP platform for a while now. It has been in public preview, but not for free. Well, that has changed, with Microsoft announcing that you can use the security tool without having to get additional partner licensing. If you’re a system admin, this announcement means that you can use the feature to control access to specific web destinations without necessarily getting extra agents or hardware or incurring additional costs. Microsoft made this decision after users had provided feedback that the feature was too costly to implement. The good news to users whose partner licenses had expired is that Microsoft has now reactivated all their policies. And, going forward, if your license expires, you’ll continue to access the web content filtering service. With the web protection feature, you can set access policies based on device groups. In addition, the feature lets you track and regulate access to sites based on their content. Recently, the Redmond-based company launched Microsoft Defender ATP for Android in public preview.
