Gabe Monroy, Chief Technology officer of Deis also expressed delight about the company’s new business direction and partnership with Microsoft. According to Monroy, the Deis team will continue to contribute to Workflow, Helm, and Steward, as well as keep deep connections with the Kubernetes community. Kubernetes is an open-source container cluster management tool, that makes it easier to developers to work in this environment, by providing automated deployment, scaling and operations of application containers. Earlier this year, Microsoft integrated Kubernetes into its own Azure Container Service, so acquiring a company like Deis is a logical step. The new partnership should also make it easier for users to work with Microsoft’s existing container offering, including Linux and Windows Server Containers, Hyper-V Containers and Azure Container Service.
