Microsoft is now allowing more apps to the Microsoft Store than before. However, they are quite specific and reserved when it comes to the kind of applications that they allow on their platform.  They still hold the rights over directories where the applications downloaded are installed. However, there are plans underway that will change this.  Microsoft is currently running tests that will eventually grant users control over the directories where they install games. Users will be able to download and install these games from Xbox Game Pass for PC or Microsoft Store. Make modifications Gamers will have the freedom to move games from one folder to a location of their choice. They will also be able to make modifications without encountering any restrictions. The change is expected to come with an update for the Xbox app for PC. The update will allow gamers to select custom installation drives and folders. It will also allow the users to back up their progress in the games.  Customized gameplay experience The update is in place to ensure that gamers are able to customize their experience in the Xbox app while playing some of their favorite PC games like Halo Infinite, Ages of Empires IV, Back 4 Blood and Forza Horizon 5. The official date of when this update will be released is yet to be confirmed. Be on the lookout for the update on the Microsoft Store! Halo infinite just launched on Horizon. The updates will prove to be quite interesting to great fans of the game.  The customization options availed by the update will make it similar to applications like Steam.
