Microsoft Confirms Xbox One S Won T Support 4K Pass Through

The official statement Microsoft leaves room for interpretation, suggesting 4K pass-through could indeed be supported in the far future: 4K pass-through allows a connected device to send 4K content through the console and display the respective content in native 4K on the screen. While this isn’t a big deal for many users seeing as 4K broadcasts are quite limited, Microsoft should have been straight forward from the very beginning. There are many potential buyers sitting on the fence thinking whether to buy an Xbox One S or wait for Project Scorpio. If 4K pass-through is an important criteria for you, then you should wait for Project Scorpio. This console should support 4K pass-through provided Microsoft doesn’t change its mind.
