How to fix Local User bugs
A Windows Insider was quick to offer a solution to the problem. You can restore a local account by selecting Start > Settings > Accounts > Your info. Then, sign in with a local account instead. I only used my Microsoft account when upgrading from Windows 7, but never actually log into my Windows 10 PCs with that account, however, I had no choice but to do so, this time, because my local user was not available to log in with, and I have zero idea what the password is for this new ‘limitedadmin’ user. My saga gets stranger once I did log in with my Microsoft account. Once logged in, I am presented with what looks like the desktop of my local user account, not my Microsoft account’s desktop. When I look at my documents or downloads or pictures, it is my local account’s stuff. When I look at the properties of those items, they all point to my local user’s directory. So, it appears that my Microsoft account has been crossbred with my local user account. As for the redirected folders, you can recover them by opening Start > Settings > System > Storage > scrolling down then clicking Change where new content is saved.
