Microsoft wasn’t clear when in its change log in only mentioning on the KB pages is that the updates are meant only for the systems enrolled in the Windows Customer Experience Improvement Program. What this means is that the updates are mostly telemetry and help Microsoft better the operating system. That being said, the information will be collected only after user consent and the same holds good for the installation as well. However, if you are already furious over Microsoft not allowing Windows 10 users to completely “turn off” telemetry, you need to stay away from this update. The two patches will be available for all versions of the Windows 7 and the Windows 8.1. In case you want to be alerted about such updates, you can always toggle the updates from optional to recommended mode so that you at least get the notifications. The KB2952664 and KB2976978 update are expected to be available during the patch Tuesday. A word of caution is that the Windows users should wait for some time as Microsoft might put the KB2952664 and KB2976978 update on the recommended channel and its at this point of time we will be having more information about the same. As of now, even the revision data has not been updated.
