This comes as a breath of fresh air following last month’s unpleasant rumors of Windows 10’s integrated keylogger as well as concerns about gaming even if these rumors were proven to be unfounded.
Windows 10 Creators Update will allow you to control data collection
Windows 10’s latest update, the Creators Update, will soon come to desktops around the world starting next week. Naturally, a lot of excitement has been created around the launch and for good reason. The update will offer new and improved features for Windows 10, including the option to control data collection and freely toggle between Basic and Full modes. On top of that, the company has been openly working on cutting back on the amount of data they collect. After the Creators Update, Windows 10 will collect about half the data compared to the Anniversary Update. The full list detailing the amount of data collected by Windows 10 can be reviewed over at Microsoft’s TechNet site. Marisa Rogers, the company’s privacy officer, promised that the list would contain even more information in the future. This is an admirable endeavor on the part of Microsoft because not many companies step up and openly admit how much data they collect through their products.
