Although Microsoft’s version is still far from perfect and there is much work to be done in the Glance screen functionality, oddly, Microsoft is introducing some changes that are going to make this feature even worse. For instance, the inability to turn off glance screen functionality while the phone is charging can prove to be rather displeasing than usable. A firm engineer from Microsoft responded to users’ request on the Feedback Hub, explaining why the glance screen feature cannot be disabled for the time being. The phrase “to prevent burn-ins on devices while Glance is on” is very obscure, and probably refers to the fact that the time does not animate every minute, but instead the new behavior includes flashing on-screen text every 60 seconds. We hope Microsoft is going to address this issue as there have been more than enough complaints from users, to consider this situation as a major problem.
