As of this writing, Microsoft has yet to push out a fix to the issue. It is also not clear why the icon is missing, at least in the Surface Pro 4. Still, one user questioned the importance of the battery life icon over at the Microsoft Community page. The argument is that Microsoft removed it because the amount of time displayed is misleading. The user explained: Are you using the Surface Pro 4? Have you upgraded to the Creators Update on this device? Did you have the same problem? Let us know in the comment section below. The text has vanished from my current Insiders Build on my Pro 3 and also on my Asus T102 which is running the current, standard version of Windows 10. On the Asus, it got even weirder.  That tablet can do 12 hours per charge and at one time it displayed 9 hours left and just a minute later, it said 13 hours 15 minutes left. Doesn’t sound reliable to me.
