This change is meant to be a permanent move for the future of Social Quickplay. It is worth mentioning that the first few months are actually going to be a trial period in order to monitor player feedback. In this manner, TC wants to make sure that the data collected during the Test Weekend was indeed representative. Also, Core and Competitive will remain platform independent, which means that  Xbox players will be matched with each other and Windows 10 players with each other. The cross-play Test Weekend revealed that GoW 4 players obtained similar results on both platforms, confirming that cross-play was feasible. However, TC really wants to make sure that the Ranked experiences are as closely matched and competitive as possible, and has decided to extend the trial period.

New Core/Competitive solutions for Windows 10 players

Social Quickplay is very popular on Windows 10. For this reason, TC is planning to introduce new Core and Competitive solutions for Windows 10 players in the near future. In this manner, the company will bring a breath of fresh air on PCs. This is an excellent piece of news as many PC players complain they’re sick of social.
